One Cute Buggie

She loves Granny's Buttons!
So this is our old Kitchen and dinning area floor. On the surface it looks okay, however it is white, who puts white in a kitchen especially when it is a main entrance to the house? So I was bleaching it every week or so and it still always looked like crap, and there were rips and warn trails in it! So I decided I wanted a new floor….

I was originally going to lay the new floor over the old one…but I ripped up the corner and whoever put it down did not use glue or any other type of adhesive… since it ripped up SO easily, I pulled it. Underneath was this Yellow with bronze speckles 60’s type floor!

I went to home depot and picked out what I wanted...I did the "lick-em and Stick-em" squares (since it was such and awkward area) and since I was doing it by myself. So after Several house and wishing I had my knee pads from work...Whala!

I LOVE IT! IT WAS SO MUCH FUN and I feel So acomplished! and it looks way better with the Red wall....If I had the money to make the tile counter-top granite it would tottaly have a tuscan feel!

Back Online!

As many of you may (or may not have) noticed I have not been on the internet for several weeks! I completely missed it, I felt like life was going on around me and I was left behind. I could not see pictures of my cute Sydney girl or Treyson, and that is simply not acceptable! My computer was very sick, partially due to Malachi’s game playing on-line and partially due to Best buy selling me crapola! But during this time I have indisputably come to realize that need the internet. I don’t even spend that much time or go that many places….I check my blog, look at others, check E-mail and then look at Craig list for any great buys….but I need to be able to have that down time. When Malachi and I look at out budget, internet is the expense that we could cut, but it is an extravagance that we are willing to maintain just for the fun of it!

“Work in progress”

I go back and forth on how I feel about our house…I do like it, this house has lots of character and is defiantly unique. It was a great deal, especially considering the economy and housing market and it has a lot of potential. It’s big and we will be able to grow into it…but every once in a while I get discouraged with how much “fixing” there is to do. Malachi and I are not carpenters and we do not have money, so we end up making home improvements, little by little, as we go along, and begging the talented people around us for help. Our house always is a “work in progress” and never seems to look “GOOD” Sometimes it feels like it will never end! I guees that is the burden of being a home owner, but when I show people our house I am always embarrassed as the unfinished look (ex. no baseboards). One day we will be rich and we can buy a cute finished house, until then….Another trip to Home Depot?
