I'm a Bad Blogger...

Sorry guys, I am just a bad blogger- I will be doing really well for awhile and then I will not have pictures or fun stuff to tell, so I just kinda procrastinate......A Few weeks ago He started a "Toe, Tap and Tumble" class- a little bit of Tap dance, little bit of Ballet and some Jumping around too....He really likes it and I am hoping that it will make him a little more graceful- since right now he is kinda a klutz- that's normal for 4 year olds right? We went to the Zoo again- Anyone counting ? that's 3 times this month! We love the Zoo and we got to go with our friend Rach and her mom from Australia! Then Friday night we went to the "Movie in the Park" they were showing "How to train your Dragon" which we had already seen and LOVED- So we went Early and My kids got Dragons painted on their faces- and the Chappells came and watched with us too, it was REALLY fun, but we didn't get to sleep until 11:30, that's a little late for us! Yesterday She had her Last Ballet class- she (of course) was a beautiful Ballerina- but most of the time was more interested in watching us, or the other girls, or herself in the mirror...and really didn't catch onto the whole "Do what the teacher is doing" thing...oh well, she was supper cute! So we pretty much do everything we can find that is FREE...So (Almost) every week we go build at Lowe's or Home depot (we have no loyalty) and we have made so much stuff, cars, flags, coasters, tool boxes, vases, trucks, golf, and last Saturday we made binoculars!

Even when you can't see their faces, you can tell they are stinkin' cute!!

UPDATE: So here is the REAL update, after waiting a long time for it to be "our turn"......We have been working on getting our "Adoption Home Study" done. This means I have to meet with my "Adoption case worker" 4 times (2 with Malachi) and he has to interview us, fingerprints (again) medical clearance, tour our house, meet the kids, LOTS of paperwork, references, Income verification....and lots of more Stuff...
So we have done 2 of the visits, and Most of the paperwork and we have one this Thursday and next, so he said we should be done with his part by the end of August!! WAHOO!!!! Then all we have to do is wait for a court date.....Sometimes that happens FAST- but it could take a long time too..... that's my life, Hurry up and wait!

4 years-Caution Long Post!

When we started our journey 4 years ago we had no idea of the adventures that laid before us..Young, in-love engaged couple with no worries.... I Loved everything about our wedding and reception- it was perfectly planned the way I wanted it!Bought our first house for $80,000 less than it was worth- we were so smart! First homes are so hard, but we like ours- mostly!Took us over a year to get pregnant the first time- miscarried at 9 weeksI worked at Albertsons for 6 years- climbed the ladder to Grocery manager- then Quit! Did every fertility treatment in the book, acupuncture, herbs, teas, hormones...Had surgery to find out what was wrong!Bought out puppy Bruce- Love that boy!!!Got Pregnant a few more times- all ending in miscarriage- time to get serious!Did an IUI- had en ectopic pregnancy- had Chemotherapy to remove it from my tube! Malachi has worked for 4 different HVAC companies- but has worked for Pacific Air Systems for over 2 years!

Missionaries lived in our basement- that was really fun!Malachi and I got to spend a lot of One-on-One time together, going on dates, hanging out...Now starts our LONG Journey to adoption- Starting with LDS family services, then DSHSWe Finally got to meet the kids- and they got to come live with us!It took us a long time to build our family, and we hit MANY BUMPS along the way---Now we are a happy family of 5 (Remember Bruce) and on the road to being a eternal family!

I hope the next 4 years are more uneventful...

Junk Mail

Today I got 3 identical offers for clear wire, all to the came address but with different names- two previous home owners and Malachi....You would think will all our new technology that there would be some type of program that deletes duplicate addresses....

Sometimes we get multiple offers to Mr. Malachi Swift, Mrs. Layne Swift, Mr. Layne Swift (since apparently I am both a man and woman) and sometimes even Malachi and Layne Swift, seriously is it that hard???

Clear wire and Chase are the worst- we probably get 50 "pre-approved credit cards" from Chase in multiple names each month...Come on computer guys- delete the duplicate addresses!!!

The Gavel

So when the gavel goes down in court it will be AS IF I myself had given birth to these two children, No one can ever take them away from us and after we are sealed in the temple they will be mine for eternity.... .... I cannot wait until that day, in fact I am starting to get a little anxious for it to come! Our situation is very stable, the parents rights are severed, we are the "official adoptive couple" and generally we really feel like a family, just waiting for paperwork.
However every once in awhile I am reminded of the restrictions we are still under...we cannot get a babysitter, or open bank savings accounts, or put their cute pictures on my blog...I excited for the day when I don't have use their legal name and when we are an eternal family!!

Anyone else feel like this is taking forever?? Just me?? oh well, only another month or so- I Hope!

Spray, Museum, Market and Fridge

Yesterday is was Super nice!!- like 80!! So we went to the Library in the morning and in the afternoon we went to the Wright park Spray ground...have you ever been to one of those before? it was great! It is like a playground- with sprinklers coming out of the ground! The kids loved it! They could have stayed all afternoon but I was too stressed out- so we will defiantly have to go back!

This is not a picture from the spray ground we went to, because all the pictures I took have my kids in them...but you get the idea!

So today was a little cooler so we went decided to go to the Tacoma Children's Museum since it was free today....it was kinda cool- nothing too spectacular, but I the kids had fun and hey, it was free...but lucky us that Farmers market was today too.... And the Tacoma Farmers Market was on the same street as the museum so we walked through there, tried some local produce and ate lunch- that was really fun! I think we will go do that again!

So did any of you notice (when you came over on Saturday) that we got a new fridge? Isn't it wonderful! We can fit so much more stuff in there, and nothing freezes randomly, and you can see everything!! I LOVE IT!! You really don't realize how sucky your fridge is until you get a new one!! =)

Update: We are doing our fingerprints (again) on Friday! The Social worker from the DSHS office in Tacoma called us and we are the next case on his list- so we scheduled our home visit (I know, another one, uhhgg) for the 20th! So I will be a crazy person cleaning my house on the 17th, 18th, and 19th....but I am SO excited to be moving forward! I know it hasn't been that long- but sometimes it feels like it's taking forever!

Happy Birthday Malachi!

So Yesterday was Malachi's Birthday- 4th of July! Somtimes it gets overshadowed by all the crazy stuff and everything else that is going on- I didn't even give him any presents=( I'll have to remember to do that today...anyways, Happy Birthday Malachi! I am so glad you are my husband and our kid's Dad!
