Look-alikes

In the last few days, several people have told me that my daughter and I look alike, this warms my heart and brings a smile to my face. We do kinda look alike! The more I get to know our kids, the more I see that they have our traits, how Cool is that? Her hair is curly and dark like mine, but thin like Malachi's. He LOVES candy, cannot seem to carry a tune and is really phisical and athletic, like Malachi. She sleeps in crazy positions all over the bed, like I use to (or still do) and would prefer to eat bread, potatos or Pasta over anything else, A carb girl, just like me. The more time we spend together I can see they are picking up on our mannerisms, I cannot belive how well we all fit together! I love it!

Childrens books....

There are lots of really fun childrens books out there...I really like all the Leap frog , Mercer mayer books, Clifford, and of course Dr. Seuss Books! Our little book collection is growing and we are finding that some of our previous garage sale finds are GREAT childrens books!

However the other night I found a bad apple in the bunch.... So they each get to choose 2 books to read at bed time. on this particular night she chose a cute looking book called " How Smudge came" looks like a cute book right?

OH No...it is not cute! If you read the back cover you find out that the main character has down syndrome, but I only found that out by a review on the back cover- in the book it just seems like everyone around this woman is controling and mean.... The wording was alkward and in the third person. and this is seriously the worst sentence that I have Ever seen in a childrens book, and I QUOTE

" Here's Ian, who isnt very old, but he is ugly with diesase and is going to
die. sometimes tears trickle out of his nearly blind eyes."

Who puts that in a childrens book, I was shocked as I read it... Yeah this book it going in the garbage...not Good-Will... the garbage!

Impromptu FHE

So a few nights ago around 10 O'clock PM Malachi and I were laying in bed talking and a light bulb went off in my head "It's monday night!"....We had compleatly forgoten that it was Monday and thus compleatly forgoten to do FHE (Family home evening) and I was suppose to go running (well walking) at Manda's house, How do you forget what day of the week it is??

So we decided as a substitute that on Tuesday night we would do a puzzle together as a family! Malachi got this for Valentines day from someone who loves him VERY much and so we spent a few hours doing it together...it was really fun!

I wish I were A Gilmore Girl!

There are some TV shows that you watch just because they are on, and there are some TV shows that you make a point to watch if you are home at the time when they come on, and there are the TV shows that you schedule you day around..... THEN there are the TV shows that you watch on TV then buy the entire season of and watch over and over again- Gilmore Girls is one of THOSE TV shows!
I have lots of shows I like.... I really like to watch House, and 16 and pregnant (don't judge), 2 1/2 men, Monk, Raising Hope, and Supernanny...but really after I have watched them once... they are pretty much done!
But I LOVE Gilmore Girls.... I just recently started watching it again (I, of course, have all 7 seasons) and I love that even though I have seen all the episodes many times before and know what happens in the end I still LAUGH and CRY and get really excited! I am reaching the end of the 7th season and I am really sad to see it end (again) I wish that it went on and on! Its the same way I felt when I finished the Harry Potter books...I cried and cried because my dream world was over! I know I am a dork!
I swear this is the best show EVER, I love the witty lines and the cultural references and the GREAT characters!! I swear I realate to all the characters...and they have a girl named LAYNE!! How cool is that? Seriously best TV show ever! It makes me want to drink coffee, and eat out all the time and watch tons of movies and talk on my cell phone and go to a university, and wish I were Rich- well I always wish I were rich, but when I watch Gilmore Girls, I imagine that I am rich! I just get sucked into the Gilmore girls world !!

Elmo Birthday!

So we had a really fun Elmo birthday party yesterday! We had it at the Swift's house and had both families there! I skipped church (Shhhh don't tell) to set up all the decortations and make dinner! I was really surpised on how hard to was to find Elmo stuff.... I guess we just don't know what cool is! But after searching High and low and making some decorations myself it turned out alright! These cupcakes are cute right? I made them myself- jelly bean for noses!!

Everyone had a fun time and ate lots of food, played with balloons and opened presents- oh and an ELMO pinata!! WAY FUN!

So TODAY is the actual birthday so this morning we went in our PJ's Tutu and crown to Franks Donut shop and pick out our very own Sprinkle Donut, What more fun could a girl have??

Practically Suicide

I have NO idea why...but I voluntered to make dinner for another family (the daddy had surgury) and I ALSO voluntered to babysit 5 kids....ON THE SAME NIGHT!! Who does that? So I went from making dinner for 4 to making dinner for 13, and to TOP it all off, its Malachi's Poker night, So I am going Solo!!
Mental note-*spread out your good deeds so that you do not go crazy*!

Shots and Ice cream

One time when I went to Idaho I went to Sydney and Treyson's Doctors appointment with them...they had to give Sydney her Shots (3 years I think) I remember that Scott held her down, with their noses about a 1/2 inch away from eachother and told her would be okay......I cried SO HARD, harder than Sydney did (she was brave) I swore (to Emily) That I would never be the one to do that, that wasofficaly Malachi's job!

So we went to the doctors yesterday....apparently we were behind on our shots...we had to do 6 all at once, it was AWFUL!! I just held him and told him that "we were going to get Ice cream right after this really sucky thing we had to do" Shots are the worst!

Blogger Make-over

So...We are making a change! In the past our blogging purpose has mostly been to openly share our daily goings-ons with our family, near and far, then it kinda changed to a place where we could share the news to the world that we wanted to adopt. We have Mostly done this with pictures and captions, but things are changing, there are going to be LOTS more words, lots less pictures and thing are going to be pretty vague.... if you are lost and don't know what is going on or what I am talking about feel free to E-mail me and ask. Laynie13@Juno.com! Then when we are all caught up I will be able to share about our family and keep everyone in the loop (isn't that the purpose of blogging anyway) Think of it as an inside joke!
